TEN CENTS TO HEAVEN Tanay: Where Romance Meets Adventure

Is there a place where Adventure Meets Romance?Yes.But an hour land tour from Manila? That might be a difficult feat.Well, read carefully---places like this do exist.

At the foot of Sierra Madre in Tanay Rizal lies a leisure park where you can have the adventure of your life and still experience that Romantic Getaway less the grind of traveling far ----at TEN CENTS TO HEAVEN Tanay.

A few years ago,I invited a blogger in our house in Saint Monique Valais Binangonan Rizal.I can't forget what he told me "parang hindi Rizal".At the back of my mind,I was nodding.I never thought therefore that there is something else about this side of Rizal that would surprise me.I was again wrong.

I was invited here to take photos of the place. We arrived late so we missed the sunset.Since it's nighttime, the first thing I noticed was the weather.It'sTagaytay-like.Cool.I r wanna emphasize that one coz in a temperate country like the Philippines, one would bear the long trip to Baguio just for a quick breath of fresh, cool air.Translate that, you don't have to go far.

I was expecting a log-cabin type of accommodation but set my expectations low.I was overwhelmed therefore with what I saw. This place is classy!

It's wood all over. Not just ordinary wood. The feel of high quality wood which I heard were mostly sourced from Infanta and nearby towns of Quezon. You know it's expensive.

The living room is one cozy place. The dim lights make it more classy and intimate.Perfect for the kind of weather in the area.

The rooms are located at the attic---all three of em with two big rooms on both ends and one for couples in the middle. That's where me and my wife stayed.

All in all,the place can accommodate up to 60pax as there are still two rooms downstairs.Beds are all cushioned for a relaxing sleep.Common restrooms with one at the attic and another one downstairs. You'll be surprised at how they were able to incorporate tiles into the restrooms.

We had dinner shortly after at the restaurant separate from the main house.Again, all wooden for a different feel.

This the view of the dining area during the day.

SIGNATURE DISHES

For dinner,we were served dishes which could easily be the Signature Dishes of Ten Cents To Heaven.Benta to kung magkataon!

First is the Dinuguan. Not the typical dinuguan you can find. This one has coconut milk in it for the right milky taste.Moderate vinegar is also added for an extra sour kick.Dinuguan with puto from Marikina.Sarap!

The Pork Binagoongan is also something special.Home-cooked with a Bicolano twist. That means a little spicy but with the right saltiness.Hindi nakakasawa. We were served ginataang tambakol  (Yellowfin Tuna) that night and it was perfect with the binagoongan. I hope Ten Cents To Heaven would include these dishes once the place goes fully operational.

WAKING UP to a Heavenly View

Went to bed earlier than usual. It was a little cloudy the next day but that's not even enough to conceal how Heavenly the view is.

My wife and I took the time to wander around. This is a 30-hectare property with most of it covered with trees. With a glass of coffee on her hands,my wife cozied into the many benches dotting the place.

Why TEN CENTS TO HEAVEN?
Kasi sa ganda ng place, 10 cents nalang nasa heaven kana.

THE CHAPEL

We walked past the chapel.A small, quiet place. Not the usual chapel you always see around.

Cottages
The resort is not yet officially open to the public but many cottages are already in place.Below these cottages is an open area where tent accommodations will soon be located. This is perfect for those who love camping.

THE PICNIC AREA

Further up is the multi-purpose hall which is still under finishing touches. This will soon be a highly sought events place.I bet on that. Here, one can have a 360 degree view of the mountains of Sierra Madre on on side and Laguna de Bay on the other.

Here's the building which will soon house the reception area. They are putting up the finishing touches.

LONGEST Zipline in Luzon

While final preparations are being late for the full operation of the hotel/accommodation component of the Leisure Park, the zipline is already operational. One can enter with a minimal fee and try the zipline. It is according to Ten Cents To Heaven the longest zipline in Luzon with a total length of 1.1kms.If I am not mistaken, the one in Mount Samat Bataan is claiming theirs is the longest at 540meters.This one in Ten Cents easily dwarfs that.

I am not a fan of ziplines, that is,because most of the ziplines I have tried are short so I find it childish and boring. But with a zipline this long and a view like this, who wouldn't be turned enthusiast? This attraction deserves a separate post and I will be updating this entry as soon as I have it published. For sure, the zipline at Ten Cents to Heaven Tanay is not to be missed.

JUNGLE BASE  4x4 ADVENTURE

And there's another reason why your stay at Ten Cents To Heaven can be an adventure of a lifetime ---The Jungle Base Land Rover Adventure.

After the 4x4 ride experience in Mt.Pinatubo a few years ago,I thought this one will be a child's play.I was wrong again.Walang sinabi ang 4x4 Ride sa Pinatubo!I underestimated the terrain in the Sierra Madre side of Tanay Rizal. If the Mt.Pinatubo trail is bumpy, this one is 3x more thrilling.Again,I will write about the experience in a separate entry and will link it here soon.

If you want to experience the Jungle Base 4x4 Adventure, you can directly contact Ten Cents To Heaven's land line number below for rates.

Transportation
HOW TO GET TO TEN CENTS TO HEAVEN Tanay

The place is to be accessed best via private vehicle. The road condition is really good. The Marikina-Infanta road cuts through the mountains of Rizal.Expect beautiful view along the way and no traffic congestion.Thank God.That in contrast to the pain you have to go through, say, you go to Tagaytay.I heard a bus company already ply the route.Look for Raymund bus if you have no private vehicle.

We are thinking of coming back soon as my wife has fall in love with the place.Romance+ Adventure without going too far? It's possible!

TEN CENTS TO HEAVEN is located in Sitio Mayagay II, Barrio Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal.

  5. How's the rooms? Kahit hindi airconditioned? Malamig ba kahit closed windows? Baka kase malamok e.

  6. Based on experience , airconditioner is not necessary kasi mala Tagaytay ang weather. About the lamok, me mga screens naman ang mga windows so as to deter insects from getting in. Diko naman napansin na malamok ^^
