breakfast @ NEW WORLD HOTEL MAKATI

for those who missed my last post, see story here:

....and so Rob and Gema decided to go to Tagaytay the next day with Gemas family. They will come all the way from Pampanga and will be around 7am. Before we retired for the night, I asked them to knock before leaving. They did, at around 8am. Found out that Gema's parents are just on the way so they invited us to join them for breakfast in the hotel restaurant at the ground floor.

Just a few minutes after going downstairs, we learned that Gema's parents are already in the hotel. Rob insisted that we eat breakfast together.

with Gema's family....

I have always believed that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Not just because we need the energy it gives us to get through the day but because it's the time when the family gather together and have a small chat. We do that during dinner but dinner time chats are more on the troubles of the day, breakfast is more about new beginnings. Gives me this feeling that we eat together to prepare for the long battle ahead and seeing your family sipping coffee or eating ham and egg beside you is reassurance enough that you are not alone in the fight.

I know this is getting too cerebral but imagine somebody who feels like going to the office everyday means going to hell? Or a student who feels that being in school translates to torture and you get what I mean.

with Gema and Rob....

Anyway, it was nice meeting Gema's family again. The last time was last new year when her parents prepared lavish food for us. I miss her mom's sinigang na hipon. hehehe.

Back at the hotel, we were asked to transfer to another room to accommodate us.I stayed in between Rob and Gema's father so I served as the translator of the two, a thing that I enjoy doing.lol

I almost forgot to eat my breakfast. I am such a talker. So when I scanned the resto for food I had a hard time picking what I want to eat since there's a lot to choose from. I ended up taking 2 pcs of bread after a few minutes of  going around taking pictures. And since I suck at food blogging, I just wanna show you the pictures of the selection they have.

New World Hotel Makati City, provides a variety of Asian and International dining experiences.

After eating, we all went back to our room. Gema and Rob decided to check out despite having booked the place for a few more days. Rob prefers a hotel with balcony where he can smell fresh air. I discouraged him by saying that the air in Manila is not even close to being fresh but he insisted the open air is better. Later learned that the agent who booked him in the hotel overcharged him. The room was supposed to be 7thousand plus but he was charged twice the amount. Bad. Perhaps the good room view could serve as a consolation.

swimming pool @ the 4th floor
Upon leaving for Tagaytay, Teresa went back to our room to fix our things. But since we are not due to check out until 12noon, we decided to check some of their facilities. New World Hotel boosts of a  nice pool in the 4th floor. Too bad we didn't have suits with us, a nice dip in the warm Manila sun would have been fun.
