10 Cool Things to Do in MATABUNGKAY BEACH HOTEL Batangas

It's Friday again and I am sure many of you will be heading to the countryside for a quick fix.Batangas perhaps? Matabaungkay anyone?

I am positive about this that when someone speaks of Lian Batangas, Matabungkay Beach Resort enters your mind.The resort property has been around for 30 years it has been synonymous to this side of Batangas. With it is a rich legacy.Long before Boracay and other destinations became famous, the then Matabungkay Beach Club used to be the "it" place for beaching and resort standard.

But 30 years behind it could also be a drag. Some of the people I know who learned that I will going to Matabungkay  Beach Hotel warned me that the place is old.That, I noticed the moment I stepped out of the van. But looking around, I saw a lot of people in the pool area and at the beach.It's a relatively big property but I could tell the occupancy was high that weekend.I then tried to answer this basic curiosity in me, if this place is not as chick as the other resorts in the area, and even in other tourist destinations in the Philippines, then why do people keep coming en masse?

What is it in Matabungkay Beach Hotel that people see? After staying in the hotel over the weekend, I think I have an idea why.

I went around and I saw people, they are alive. They are out of their rooms, enjoying the sun, playing with each other, interacting with their family's. The whole place is alive. It allows  people to breath, to interact, to feel and I think that's the essence of going away with your family or friends (barkada).

1. LAZYING AT THE POOL

We Filipinos loooove pools.And a resort/hotel with a good pool is definitely a winner.We also love to be seen.It's time to show off that body! Be seen at Matabungkay Beach Hotel poolside. :)

2. BEACH BUMMING

The beach is perfect if you want to have that beautiful tan. It's shallow so it's perfect for families with kids with them. It's also perfect for activities such as kayaking as you don't have to worry of drowning if you topple from your kayak---that is, if you don't know how to swim.This is a family friendly beach.

 3. BEACH PARTIES and Team Building

This is a major sell for Matabungkay Beach Hotel. It's very famous for group retreats. Groups come in hundreds and sometimes in thousands. With other resorts in the area not capable of accommodation big number of guests, the hotel is on the leaderboard when it comes to group retreats. I saw a couple of groups by the beach doing team building on our way to the beach concert when we were there.


And speaking of beach parties, Matabungkay Beach Hotel hosted a summer kick-off concert last time with no less than THE BLOOMFIELDS as guest performers!!! I will be talking about the concert on my next post. For now, I wanna say, I am now an avid Bloomfields fan!!! And to Matabungkay Beach Hotel, more beach parties please!!!!

4. Play TENNIS, BASKETBALL,VOLLEYBALL

This is what I mean when I say the resort is ALIVE!!! There are so many  things to do so people don't lock themselves in their rooms.They go out, they play, the socialize!!!!

5.PICNIC WITH THE FAMILY

There are Nipa cottages along the beach where the family can  picnic. Eat together, play together.And oh, don't forget, you can always order fresh catch from the La Playa Seafood Grill just behind those cottages.

6.CAMPING

There are tents available at one section of the resort should you decide to give your weekend retreat a twist. Camping anyone?

7. TABLE TENNIS, POOL and DART

There's still something for those who prefer indoor sports. The start of summer in the Philippines has been weird.It was strangely "wet"and wet it was when we arrived at Matabungkay Beach Hotel. It rained the moment we started eating lunch!Hahaha.

The rain might keep you out of the ground but it doesn't mean there's nothing more to do here. There's table tennis, dart of billiards. And if that is not enough, there's even a VIDEOKE ROOM for you!

 

 

 

 8. DRINK AT COGON BAR

If you are like me, you might need to loosen up a bit before you grab that microphone and sing. Order cocktails at the Cogon Bar. They have the perfect mix for you.

9. SING your hearts out!

Who doesn't love videoke anyway? This facility is a sure hit.Wet summer? I don't think so. Let's give "singin in the rain"another name.

10.TURKISH SAUNA and Massage

After a long day and all the fun activities. There's nothing like a relaxing massage.In our case, ito pa nga ang inuna namain when we came. yeah, we all lined up for the massage.
