HARINA ARTISAN BAKESHOP: Bloomin’ Bread, Waldorf Salad Sandwich, Adobo Pulled Pork and more!

If you have heard of Monsees Bakeshop before, it is one and the same with Harina Artisan Bakeshop. And I like the new name. What could be more fitting for a bakeshop than to be named after the most important ingredient in making bread. But Harina is no ordinary bakeshop, it takes into account the "artisan" attached into its name. Delicious food, beautiful presentations. It's a labor of love.

They sell an assortment of products ready for take out so many patrons do drop by to take out goodies packed nicely, some with the labels of Monsees and some with Harina. Their menu carries and assortment of bread including the popular breadsticks and Spanish bread. I also saw pandesal in there.

They also have all-day breakfast capitalizing on bread which is of course the core product of the store. Dine in or take out, you can surely find something to satisfy your taste. French Toast, Strawberry Cheesecake, Peanut Butter Bananas with Chocolate, Breakfast Tart, Pancakes, Muffins and Biscuits. Rice meals are available too.

KUALA LUMPUR + MELAKA Travel Guide: Itinerary + Tips on where to stay, what to eat and what to see

Here’s a travel guide that will help you with your itinerary of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia + Melaka as well as tips on where to stay, what to eat and what attractions you shouldn't miss. It also includes how you can stay connected with your social media at a smart price so as you will stay in touch with your family wherever you go in Malaysia.

It’s diverse, livable, affordable and commuter friendly. The reason why Malaysia is one of my favorites among the few foreign countries I visited so far ----Hongkong, Macau, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia.

I was here on two separate trips. The first was my introduction to Kuala Lumpur and Melaka. The second was with my wife, we stayed in KL too and traveled as far North as Penang.

Let’s talk Kuala Lumpur and Melaka first.
Will do KL + Penang on the next installment.

inside the dark chambers of MALINTA TUNNEL

I don't like scary things.I mean, horror movies for example. My principle is simple, why would I pay 5 bucks to scare myself? My life is already to complicated and exciting to do that. That said, I usually avoid creepy places too.But there is one experience that is worth the scare ----the Guided Tour inside MALINTA CHANNEL.

It's one of unique experiences that I failed to write about in 2013. I finally got to go to Corregidor Island early last year thanks to Manila City Walks.

The main travel experience I wrote here: Of Bombs, Big Guns and Lost Gold: The CORREGIDOR ISLAND WALKING TOUR. But there was one interesting sidetrip that was not originally part of the tour but we decided to have anyway.

Malinta Tunnel was dug through solid rock and offered complete protection from artillery or air attack. Command communications and medical units were located there. Gen. MacArthur set up the headquarters of USAFFE inside the tunnel where men and women would live and work during the siege of Corregidor. The tunnel was originally designed to house huge quantities of ammunition, food and supplies, and an underground hospital with a 1,000-bed capacity. It was the last stronghold of American and Filipino forces days prior to Corregidor's fall from the heavy air bombardment of the Japanese in World War II.

Camping Overnight in TONDOL BEACH Anda

I was so disappointed with Tondol on my last visit that I openly bashed the place in my blog. Last Christmas holiday, I was off from work for six days which meant I was able to do a lot of things in my hometown. Other than the yearly Noche Buena with family, reunion with mother-side relatives, wedding of a high school classmate, we were able to camp in, yes, Tondol beach. It's about time I give Tondol another chance or shall I say, myself an opportunity to fall in love with it.

Then I realized I have never camped overnight in Tondol before. Same with my wife. We are both locals and the countless trips to the beach never involved an overnight stay.

December is cool season in the Philippines so I thought the weather will be perfect for a beach visit. The date was set, December 27. Then on the 26th, it suddenly started becoming windy, cloudy and at times drizzly. What's wrong with this weather!

Pusangkalye in 2013: TRAVELS

I was off to a slow start. The holiday rush and the weeks leading to new year's celebration and everything related to it finally took its toll on me. I am starting the year with a bad cough and flu.

But this is just a small bump. I am actually very excited about 2014. I think this year is gonna be an awesome year. Though late, allow me to summarize the amazing year that was 2013.

2013 has been another breakthrough year for my blogging this year with content focused mostly on travel, food, product/services reviews as well as hotel and resort staycations.
