COCA-COLA Christmas Caravan and Araneta Center GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE Lighting

DO YOU ALREADY FEEL CHRISTMAS? I'm serious.I mean, I see my neighbor's Christmas lights lit every night. I even put up my own tree immediately after All Saints Day but I didn't feel Christmas until last Saturday, November 12. Yes, Christmas Spirit has hit on me.....

It was due to the Coca-Cola Christmas Caravan and lighting of the ARANETA CENTER GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE. Twas my first time to attend the tree lighting as it was Friday last year when it was held so I missed it. Thanks Coca-cola for holding it on a Saturday this year. I really enjoyed the experience.!!!!

Gates opened 4pm for the press but I came past five so I missed some of the stars going around having photo opt with the media people present The parking lot in front of Araneta Coliseum was already packed when I arrived. Mouth watering eats like barbecue, ice cream, pop corn, pizza, cotton candy , puto bumbong and bibingka were served simulating the Noche Buena feast.  Of course, overflowing Coca-cola was a delight. Christmas has come in Araneta and I felt it.

A program ensued with the annual LIGHTING of the GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE as a symbol that holiday season is here. The COCA-COLA Agawin ang Eksena Winners performed Christmas Carols for the crowd.

It was a festival of stars as well. Talents from the Kapamilya and Kapuso stations graced the event. They joined hands with the Coca-Cola ambassadors which includes --- Kathryn Bernardo, Joseph Marco, Julia Montes and Enchong Dee. The ABS-CBN stars included Empress Schuck, Jessy Mendiola and Aaaron Villaflor while GMA talents present were Kris Bernal, Rocco Nacino Steven Silva, Sef Cadayona, Diva Montelaba, Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio.

The Ambassadors and some of the stars had their special numbers afterwards. Notably, ENCHONG DEE was the crowd favorite. People were screaming and crying "We love you Enchong" every now and then. Julia Montes, Empress Schuck, Katryn Bernardo and Aaron Villaflor were equally lauded in their numbers.

The young stars were not only there for the eating spree and merriment. More importantly, they were there to lend a hand to the less fortunate. The COCA-COLA CHRISTMAS CARAVAN has encouraged guests to donate whatever they can for the Manila Boystown, making the day even more worthwhile.

Of course, the heart of the occasion remained to be the traditional lighting of the ARANETA CENTER GIANT CHRISTMAS TREE, which was made grader and more sparkling this year. Would you believe it, 2011 is the 30th year  this custom has been celebrated. Standing almost 100 ft, this years tree us glittered with more than 10,000 lights and hundreds  of stars and Coca-Cola Christmas balls with huge ribbons and colorful gift boxes as accents.

Through the years, it has become a beacon of hope among Filipinos, it is an icon that signals the start of the Holiday Season and reminds us to always believe  in the magicand happiness it brings.

Christmas has always been the most important holiday for me......I am very glad I attended this event. I was fully engaged in the activities like going inside the happiness bus which I find interesting. I was busy taking photos with other bloggers eating some of the food served with Coca-Cola while Christmas songs echo in the air. Let's admit it. Coca-cola has become synonymous with Christmas. I didn't do it intentionally so I realized later on that I was also wearing red.hahahaha. I really blended well with the red theme.

The season of true joy is now officially here. I wish everyday is Christmas day!!!!
