AZALEA RESIDENCES:official hotel of the 1st Baguio Blog Conference

The other weekend was a winner.I got the opportunity to give back to the blogging community by sharing the little that I know of EVENTS BLOGGING in the 1st BAGUIO BLOG CONFERENCE organized by the Cordillera Bloggers. Not only that,we were pampered like VIP's by our host, shuttled to and from Manila and booked in one of Baguio's fresh addition to its lineup of Boutique Hotels-----AZALEA RESIDENCES.

Yes, AZALEA RESIDENCES was the official hotel residence of the 1st Baguio Blog Conference!

Azalea Residences is the freshest addition to the flourishing hospitality industry in the Philippines.

Say AZALEA and I say FRESH.Yes, the hotel, its facade,it's simple and clean interior plus the crisp cool air of the City of Pines makes you feel fresh, fresh, fresh!!! I KNOW IT'S NEW RIGHT, so one would assume it should be clean and mabango and all. Well I am very particular with smell. And not all new hotels smell good.totoo yan.hahaha

 keeping it clean and simple

AZALEA is a boutique hotel. That means it has fewer rooms compared to the big full service hotels in Metro Manila and smaller space too.I like it therefore that they tried to keep the interior design simple. No unnecessary furniture or accessories on the hallways for example. For me, that's important. I don't want to feel crowded. What matters to me is that the hotel could breath and I as a guest could also breath with it.

THE ROOMS
The rooms offer a blend of simplicity and contemporary luxury.

The rooms are a make or break for me.Especially the bed. When we got inside our deluxe room, I immediately remarked, "wow!Condo!" . I love condo living. How I wish I have one in the Metro so that I don't have to commute from Binangonana Rizal during blogging events. What I love about condo set-up is that its COMPACT.Everything you need is in there! Plus parang bahay lang. And when I say bahay, I mean homey and comfortable. :)

You have your fridge to keep your food from being spoiled.Like in our case, we bought tupig on our way to Baguio. I immediately place it inside the fridge for the next day.All hotels have fridge one might say, well this is relatively bigger.Parang sa bahay nga lang. And when you check in to bigger rooms, the bigger the fridge gets. That means you can purchase all the delicacies you can find downtown and stuff them here.lols

 THE RESTAURANT

Another lifeline of a successful hotel. If the food sucks, the hotel goes down with it. They have a relatively small yet cozy and efficient restaurant. There's not so much on the menu but enough to satisfy your food craving. What i am saying is, hindi OA sa dami ng food na wala namang lasa----that kinda stuff.I love it when they keep the menu streamlined.Although I feel that perhaps if the hotel is full house, the place might get a little crowded.Well, at least not during our stay.We enjoyed our FILIPINO breakfast with the bloggers from the CORDILLERAS, Emil and Yam.

UNDERGROUND PARKING

I thought parking would be the problem given the small space and the fact that Azalea is a few blocks away from the main road.Well they have underground parking. My concerns disappeared. Many families bring their cars when they climb Baguio for a quick holiday and parking is one of the main considerations in choosing a hotel in Baguio.

 AZALEA PARKING
Basement Parking---check!
AZALEA BAGUIO CITY
PROXIMITY

This is another major consideration.Azalea is approximately 5-10minutes away from SM BAGUIO so it's really accessible. If you are familiar with TEACHERS CAMP (who isn't?) That's where Azalea is opposite Teacher's Camp's main gate before the bridge.Easy to find.

Azalea Residences Baguio is a mix of contemporary design, intimacy and luxury. You might wanna check it next time you vacation in the City of Pines.

I heard they are planning to open branches in Boracay, Davao, Cebu, and Angeles soon.Looks like AZALEA is a brand to watch out for!
