Lagoon Suite at SAN ANTONIO RESORT Roxas City

Finally! Remember my article about SAN ANTONIO RESORT in Roxas City two years ago?
Here>> http://www.pusangkalye.net/2013/02/snaked-into-san-antonio-resort-roxas.html. I only sneaked in the resort at that time especially at the pool area so I didn't really have a first-hand experience of how it was like staying there. I was brave because Francis, a local friend, accompanied me. Got to appreciate the poolside and the lovely lake next to it and wished I could go back one day and stay overnight. I finally had the chance last month and I can finally write about the experience.

And who can forget about these photos?

Sprawling Resort
Located in Baybay Area

Most hotel accommodations im Roxas City are downtown, around the church/market, and in Pueblo de Panay which is a city-within-a-city development while San Antonio Resort is along the Baybay Area which is the coastal area of Roxas. This makes it a little off if you are thinking of downtown lifestyle but this gives the resort an advantage on the quality of location because it is in the quieter and less crowded side of town. The sprawling resort premise is one example. The rooms are scattered in a countryside setup and the view from the pool is one example of the importance of space. Plus you get to retreat by the seaside where lots of seafood restaurants are located. The city's beach is located here and although it is not very suitable for swimming because of the big waves and trash, it still gives a good ambiance in contrast to the city center's orientation. Should you need something downtown, it's only a few minutes commute.

Lagoon Suite
At first, I was told to check in at a budget room. I was surprised because I was expecting a better space. Found out later that they were preparing the room so I was given a temporary room. Nice to know though that they have budget rooms in the resort for those who are budget conscious especially for large groups. I was then transferred to a Lagoon Suite which is setup you will not easily find in a city hotel. The fact that Roxas City has a resort is in itself a pleasant surprise. The Lagoon Suite is very spacious and the view of course is one that will surely delight you. Imagine waking up to this. Joy!

Shame that I was not feeling well during my stay here. I actually had fever the night before flying to Roxas City and I even thought about the possibility of not joining the tour organized by Las Islas Travel and Tours but I still managed to push through with the trip. I therefore spent the first day mostly at the resort while my other travel blogger were out to explore nearby attractions in Roxas City. I was in the room mostly recovering and I really liked the comfortable bed and efficient airconditioning. I was asleep until my roommate Francis dropped by to fetch me for dinner.

Shame because I dreamed of swimming at the resort's pool and just enjoy the view. I only achieved the latter.

Breakfast By The Seaside
Francis and I woke up early the next day for breakfast. Resort guests are afforded free buffet breakfast by the seaside where the restaurant extension is located catering to the breakfast needs of resort guests. This is other than the main restaurant Portlago by the poolside. The menu was rather simple with a few main dishes but good enough for a hearty meal. The ambiance itself is enough to start the day in a good vibe. We immediately packed our backs after the meal and left for Islas Gigantes Norther Iloilo.

I was actually given the option to choose between Urban Manor Hotel or San Antonio Resort but no contest, I instantly chose the latter. I am not saying Urban Manor is not good. I saw their rooms and the place is quite classy but I wanted a place with a resort feel and I easily achieved that at San Antonio Resort. Make sure you check it out when you visit Roxas City.
