BRISA MARINA BEACHFRONT RESORT: A Small Resort that Punches Above its Weight #Morong #Bataan

I was a bit surprised because I didn't expect it to be smaller than what I conceived online. Then the realization upon check-in that the place is indeed small but intimate and cozy. You will instantly be engulfed by the "feel-good-vibe" of the place. It is because it is small that you feel homey and secure. Small but not a hint of feeling crowded. Instead, there is this feeling of warmth.

Thanks to the main building which is two storeys with our room located at the left after climbing up the stairs. The pool below and the infinite blue sea gives you a sense of overflowing space. This place is breathable. A place where your mind wanders with calm as calm as the sea.

About Brisa Marina Beachfront Resort
Brisa Marina Beachfront Resort is perfectly situated on the tranquil and picturesque province of Morong, Bataan. Our luxury resort offers elegant amenities and a beautiful beachfront access. With couple’s spa packages, beachfront dining and exciting water activities to enjoy together – it is the ultimate travel destination. The perfect place to wind down, forget about all your stresses and create wonderful memories.

This is a family-owned resort and the people who they employed to manage it, including the caretakers were innately friendly. People were caring and down-to-earth. Adds to the feel-good ambiance of the place. So that's what played in my head the whole time we were here. "This is a feel good place". "This is a feel good place".

How to Get To Brisa Marina Beach Resort
via Subic
Travel time : 2 Hours and 10 minutes

I talked to the guests next to our room and they said finding the resort was a bit sketchy. That is because the map on their Facebook page was not properly pinned on their location. We went here on commute and it was an easy 3 hrs ride from Manila to Olongapo city via Victory Liner bus, another 45 minutes via slow ordinary bus to Morong town and a 5-minute tricycle ride to the resort. Easy breezy. There are two routes to get here if you are coming from Manila via private vehicle. Either via Balanga or Olongapo. I suggest taking Olongapo route as it is shorter and less traffic.

1. Take North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)
all the way to Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX)
2. Take Subic Exit at SCTEX
3. Enter Subic through Subic Tipo Toll Gate
4. Go straight ahead until you reach the first stoplight
5. Turn left on the stoplight (See Anvaya Cove Directional Signs)
6. Follow the signs to Anvaya Cove or Morong Gate
7. Exit Morong Gate and follow the signs to Anvaya Cove
8. Upon reaching the gate of Anvaya Cove just go straight and follow the signs to Pawikan
9. Enter the village. See signs pointing to Brisa Marina and Pawikan Conservation Center
10.At the end of the street, turn right and see the directional sign of Brisa Marina

We stayed in a premier couple room at the 2nd floor. Spacious. Clean. Light colored walls fit for a fresh beach feel. The all glass wide sliding door is perfect for the overlooking view from here. Sheets are clean although it would have been better if they have thicker cushions but this one was enough for a comfortable night sleep.

I noticed that water supply in the resort is a bit briny compared to what we have in Manila. That is because resorts in the area , and I guess even households in this town, rely on deep wells or pumps for fresh water. Since the resort is near the sea, water is therefore a bit salty. At least we were sure of continuous water supply and water heater too for shower. They also have their own generator set so no need to worry should there be power outages.

THE POOL
The pool at the center is nice and always kept clean. We were here swimming at night even if it was rainy because it was well lighted and it felt good taking a dip in its warm water after being heated by the sun the whole day.

THE BEACH
I never thought I would get to like and enjoy a beach with gray sand. From afar it looks rather boring and dull. But once you step on it that's when you realize the real beauty of the sand. It's powdery soft so it is very relaxing to stroll. You go on walking the length of the beach (and it is so long and wide) without tiring your feet. The sea was calm during our stay, quite impressive on a rainy season and the water is clear and free of any garbage.

FOOD
The restaurant is fine and the best thing is that your group can bring in food and drinks at no charges. I envied others who brought with them ihaw-ihaw (skewer) for food. We enjoyed hanging out at the veranda of our room looking at the resort below and the vast sea. I would love to be back here. A small resort that punches above its weight indeed!

Other Activities
During summer, there are a few fun activities you and your family can do. The resort offers boat tour, banana boat and beach volleyball among others.Perfect for summer. But I think a stay during rainy season is fit for a more slow approach. The resort was fully booked during that weekend we were here but nobody opted to go for such extras. Everybody simply took the time to slow down and enjoy relaxing by the pool or by the beach.

I think Brisa Marina Beachfront Resort is really about enjoying a slow and calm life. Away from the noise and pollution and from the hidden pressure of a big resort. My point is that we sometimes go to resorts for escape or a quick fix but we end up packing our schedule with so many activities that we end up not being relaxed at all. Brisa Marina is that place where you can just forget about everything else and really have that calm in your mind. We came to enjoy the play, we ended up getting more than we asked for.
