World war II memorial in Lingayen......

At the back of the Provincial
Capitol Building facing the beach
is the world war II memorial
for the famous Lingayen gulf landing
to regain control of Luzon.....

It was a small area. Compact and just enough to emphasize that the place was once a very important battleground after 3 years of Japanese control. Here, you could see pictures of how it was during that day as well as newspaper clippings after the successful operation......

As a matter of fact, some of the actual planes, artillery and tanks used that time were preserved here in this memorial.

can't imagine how grim that day was. Now, the gulf and the beach area just a few meters away was just calm.......

We were there to witness it ourselves.

Till our next stop in Pangasinan>>>>>>>>
