MARIANNE HOME INN Palawan

I haven't really featured a lot about travel accommodations in my blog so this is also something I wanna do. I have always said that one's travel pleasure and overall satisfaction is one way or another directly proportional to your choice of accommodation. It doesn't have to be expensive, what suits your budget is the important thing. For sure, you will find something that fits your taste and lifestyle.

When in Palawan, and when deciding to stay downtown Puerto Princesa, I suggest you try MARIANNE HOME INN.

Marianne Home Inn
MARIANNE HOME INN Palawan
Marianne Home Inn is located at the heart of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. Just about a 5-minute walk to Baywalk and the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral (both tourist’s main attractions), an 8-minute ride from the airport, and is fully accessible by the City’s public transportation.Marianne Home Inn has 17 air-conditioned rooms, each with private bath and hot and cold showers. It opened in March 31,2011 so it's relatively new. That means you have little to worry about sanitation, or bugs or cockroaches.hahaha

They have four (4) different type of rooms which could cater to you depending on your number or budget.

STANDARD ROOM (For 2 Pax).Rate Php 1,200. Extra Bed : P 395.00

It's in the dormitory room where five (5) of us boys stayed during our sponsored tour of Puerto Prinsesa City sponsored by Airphil Express. At first I thought it's not going to be comfortable, but the moment I saw the room, all my worries evaporated. I looks spacious despite the 4 bunk beds inside. The room is really clean and well lighted. The airconditioner was enough to cool the room. The only setback in this type of accommodation is the restroom coz if there's 8 of you with the same time appointment, each should really be fast when using it. Other than that, I saw all the other rooms but the dormitory room is still my favorite. Perfect for the barkada.

If you are the introvert, hopeless romantic, social outcast and you happen to call yourself an independent, I-can-do-it-all-alone, solo traveler, they also have a
SINGLE OCCUPANCY Room for you at 900 php.Extra bed is at 395 pesos.

Another thing that i love about Marianne Home In n is that it lives to it's name. It's an Inn which feels like home. On the ground floor is the dining area.Don't expect anything fancy. But one thing I can assure you, it feels like eating home lang. Feel good dining na parang nasa bahay kalang. Plus the food taste good. Parang lutong bahay din.

Again, this is me being opinionated. Instead of reviewing only the accommodation, I wanna make sure I make my stand clear on this on. While there is joy and sense of triumph in knowing that you can do things on your own, especially in travelling, I still think that in most cases, it's best shared with others. What's happiness if you  can't share it diba?

Back to the topic, yeah, Marriane Home Inn is a good choice when in Puerto Princesa, that is, if you intend to stay in downtown area. It's close to everything, it's new, clean and yet very affordable.Pusangkalye recommends this place. :D

    =))

  6. Don't be deceived by the cleanliness of the rooms. My wife and I stayed there on Jan 6-8, 2012. Stayed in Rm 301. If you are one who doesn't mind huge cockroach flying in your room at night or being bitten by cockroach or clothes being soaked by its "filth" then its okay for you then, otherwise advise you find our place to stay. When you request for morning calls by telecom because they don't have phone in the room, you still need to regularly check the time yourself when you visit restroom at night because they never call at all. Don't be fooled by some of the terms and conditions in their ads. As advertised, free airport hotel transfer. We were picked up by van on arrival at PP airport but for lack of servicing van????, we were transported back to airport on our departure by tricycle. Or maybe they forgot to mention in their ads, the free transportation is by tricycle. What a shame. Don't expect too much from the breakfast, remember its free. We are frequent travelers, we don't have the habit of commenting hotels/inns but this was too much for us, never did we in our trips encounter such "courtesy" as shown to us by Marianne's Inn. In short, there was breach of contract. So, for those staying there, happy "cockroaching" and hope you don't get deceived by the cheap room price. I am sure there are equal value inn/hotels with better services and commitments to guests. We will be going back to PP because we love the place but we will definitely NOT stay again in Marianne's Inn
