a peek inside HOTEL ELIZABETH Baguio

WONDER about how the rooms are at your dream hotels? As a travel blogger, I get to check in to some of the best hotels and accommodations in the country---from budget to high end.And if the finances restricts, I get the privilege to peek inside the rooms by request. The thing is, we get curious at what to expect inside the rooms and the photos provided in the official websites of some hotels/resorts are not enough to satisfy that curiosity. Here in my PEEK INSIDE SERIES, you get to see more photos of the accommodations you are eying for on your next travel destination..........

Here's a peek a peek inside HOTEL ELIZABETH BAGUIO

It was a vacation originally planned between my wife and her mom. But since I didn't have much to do in Manila, I made a last minute decision to join them. Plans were already made to stay with a cousin and it was Nov.1 weekend so hotels were already fully booked---the cheap rates at least, the ones fit for my budget.

Had it been thoroughly planned, we should have stayed in HOTEL ELIZABETH.

I learned about this  Hotel last year or was it 2 years ago? I am part of this photography group called YOPHO and some of our former members went to Baguio for a vacation con photowalk. They stayed in Hotel Elizabeth. I was envious when I saw their photos in Facebook coz I turned down the invitation to join them at that time. I quietly told myself instead that I will be staying in that Hotel someday too. That didn't happen last time. But since the cousins house in Gibraltar we stayed in is just a few blocks away from Hotel Elizabeth, I decided to make a courtesy call to the management to allow me to peek inside their rooms so that I can show my readers what's in this Hotel and why it was awarded as the BEST HOTEL in Baguio for three consecutive years.....

I am glad I was given access. Well, it's coem with coincidence. Remember the Budget Hotel we stayed last time before watching the Pole Cats Concert? HERE: http://www.pusangkalye.net/2011/10/fersal-hotel-annapolis-cheap-but-decent.html . Turned out that Hotel Elizabeth Baguio is a sister company. Life is full of surprises!!!

Moving on, let me take you now on a tour inside the hotel. This will be the first of my
PEEK INSIDE HOTEL SERIES. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to HOTEL ELIZABETH BAGUIO.

The beautiful Hallyway leading to the Santorini Grand Ball room

Let's make a pause here an make a little elaboration. Not only that Hotel Elizabeth is an award winning Hotel. It is also well known as D-place for events. Yeah, this place is famous when it comes to functions, and conferences, specially weddings.

I talked to the area manager, Ms. Ace and she told me they are actually fully booked All Saturdays til January as early as last week of Oct. Imagine that? Blame it on the SANTORINI Grand Ball room and the majestic hallway leading to it. Who wouldn't love to walk trough it with their tuxedo or beautiful gown anyway?

THE ROOMS

Hotel Elizabeth has 72 Luxurious rooms with published rates ranging from 4,256 pesos to 13,440 pesos which go as low as 50% off during off peak season. Baguio's peek and off peak season is very flexible so watch out for their announcements every now and then in facebook if you are looking for a good bargain. http://www.facebook.com/hotelelizabeth .

The regular published rates though are very reasonable as the Hotel has everything that you need. On top of that, it's very accessible to public transport. It's along jeepney route and is only 80-100pesos away from Victory Liner terminal or SM Baguio via metered taxi.

Executive Penthouse Suite

While maintaining its laid-back Mediterranean charm, the hotel is convinietly located walking distance from some of the most popular tourist attractions in the city of Baguio like Wright Park, Mansion House, Mines View and Good Shepard. We actually walked from mansion house when we went here.

Hotel Elizabeth is designed by celebrity personality and professional interior designer, Tessa Prieto Valdez, who adds a sophisticated and playful touch to the interiors of the hotel.  You will notice as you go around that there are areas with hand-painted murals by artist Alfred Galvez. I heard that such is also the same in Hotel Elizabeth Cebu which is the latest in the crown of the Fersal Group.

The CORRIDORS:

what I love about the hallways of this Hotel is that they are not too crowded. Simple furnitures and fixtures but dramatic enough to add accent to the place. Hotel Elizableth is a boutique Hotel, that means it's not really big so a simplistic approach is better.

THE FLORA CAFE:

This is where you indulge in good food after a tiring day of going around the city. It's open 6am-10pm daily and is located in the lobby. Breakfast is complimentary to Hotel guests and it's based on the actual room capacity. Meaning, if the room is good for 4, then all for guests are entitled for free breakfast. Extra person would be charged 330 per pax. We tried their Fried ice cream during our visit and I really liked it.

The view as you look outside its glass windows would definitely increase your appetite.

While touring around, I saw the spectacular view of sunset so I immediately went to the balcony of one of the suites and took a photo. The golden ray of the sun was reflected in the yellow pains of the hotel making it glow like gold. Awesome scene.

Hotel Elizabeth is definitely the place to stay when in Baguio. One of the most sought after for customers who value good value and location. It's a bit expensive but its worth the price. It is a standout in its price category in the City of Pines. I for one would like to experience staying here and I will make it a point that it will be my official accommodation next time I drop by Baguio.

Thanks Ms. Ace for the tour. It was so nice of you to personally accompany me trough the tour of the Hotel and giving me insights about your lovely place!!! Tweet me kagad  @pusangkalye22 pag me promo ha.lols
