GALLERIA TAAL: An Ancestral House and Camera Museum Wrapped into one

WARNING: a photo-overload post.

The title says it all.No it's a Robinson's Mall Brach, GALLERIA TAAL may look like one of the many heritage houses in the sleepy town of Taal Batangas but inside is a camera museum. A house literally full of old cameras of all brands.Olympus,Canon, Leica,my favorite Nikon and even ones I haven't heard of my entire life ----say,Graflex,Sanderson etc.

GALLERIA TAAL is considered the 1st Camera Museum in the Philippines owned by Manny Inumerable.According to our guide, these cameras are a personal collection of Mr. Inumerable himself. It's a Vintage Camera Wonderland!

Let the photos speak for it.

ABOUT THE ANCESTRAL HOUSE

The history of this house is not very clear but according to relatives, it was probably built by the Ilagan family around 1870’s. It is composed of two houses: the early house which is at the back portion of the house with a tiled roof and the later house which is in front of the main street and roofed with GI sheets. The houses was probably built about thirty to fifty years apart. The family of Domingo Ilagan and Maria Martinez lived here during these times.Read more here: http://taalgalleria.com/about

Galleria Taal is situated along Agoncillo St. which is the main street in Taal Town and about 500 meter from the Basilica of St. Martin de Tours,  leading  down to Lemery, Batangas.  Very near the Galleria Taal, are other museums such as the Apacible Museum and Agoncillo Museums.

A must for not just for photo enthusiasts.

This post is part of my Taal Heritage Tour Series.
