Behind the Doors of CHATEAU 1771: 25th year celebrated with a book launch

Filipinos are very discriminating when it comes to food.I say, one of the most difficult to please. So many critics and so many picky eaters. Idagdag mo pa yung mga maaarte. To stay in the restaurant business for years is tough.I have nothing but big admiration therefore for CHATEAU 1771 for 25 years of solid presence in the industry. That's a wow!

And what better way to celebrate 25 years of success than with a book ------ "Behind the Doors of Chateau 1771" which was launch last May 18 at Ayala Museum Makati.

All those who attended got their own copy of the book with autograph from Chef Vicky Pacheo who is no doubt one of the main driving force if the brand as well as the owners themselves Ricky Gutierrez and Tess Bautista See who opened the first branch 25 years ago taking inspiration from Ricky's address being 1771 Adriatico Street.

Allow me to quote some of the lines from the book which could serve as an inspiration to any would-be restaurateur and even ordinary consumers like who who share the love for good food.

"This book is about the many people who are part of Chateau and who have contributed their own bright ideas and generous service to it" ---Maya Jacinto

"Let the food shine. It will speak for itself" ---Chef Vicky Rose Pacheco

"Tourists and transients form a high percentage of the traffic that Centro Greenbelt attracts.Bloggers, travel guides and advisories have featured it.As one of its print ads punned 'the only way to tell a really good restaurant is by word of mouth ' ---page 14.

"Each restaurant is a space for all the important moments of life.Ricky is a romantic. He wants people to fall in love inside his restaurants, or at the very least, make friends.People grow old with us, till death do us part" ----- page 16.

The thirteen recipes at the back of the book represent the different eras of chef Vicky's No Border Cuisine and how No Borders is expressed in the different restaurants.

I have personally tried Sentro 1771 Greenbelt and I sincerely felt happy learning that I finally found a restaurant offering modern Filipino dishes that I can 'proudly' recommend to friends and blog readers kasi alam kong di ako mapapahiya.

I also wrote about Sidebar Ortigas on one occasion. You cam read my full review here:
